- Currently there are only three medications approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use via the intrathecal route:
- morphine
- ziconotide (best for neuropathic pain, but has narrow therapeutic window)
- baclofen (for spasticity)
- Trials should be infusions, not bolus.
