Pre-procedure
- Radial Artery Barbeau Test!!!
- Put a pulse ox on the thumb, then compress the radial artery.
- If the pulse ox waveform disappears and doesn’t return within two minutes, don’t do radial artery canalization.
Premedication
- Cocktail for radial artery:
- 2.5 mg verapamil, 100 ug nitro, 5000 u heparin. Mix in a 20 cc syringe.
Post-procedure
- Radial access closure with manual compression or TR Band
