Intrathecal Pumps

• Currently there are only three medications approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use via the intrathecal route:
  • morphine
  • ziconotide (best for neuropathic pain, but has narrow therapeutic window)
  • baclofen (for spasticity)
• Trials should be infusions, not bolus.
