  • Currently there are only three medications approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use via the intrathecal route:
    • Morphine
    • Ziconotide (best for neuropathic pain, but has narrow therapeutic window)
    • Baclofen (for spasticity)
  • Trials should be infusions, not bolus.
